It is time for a renovation.
I was not going to share any personal information on this website for the main reason of my blatant display of vandalism but things have changed. I will take what consequences there may be for spreading my figurative shit everywhere. Those buildings (and other such university property) were asking for it.
So now I will talk about myself:
I am, at this moment, a senior dance and "Art Theory and Practice" major at Northwestern University. When I leave this place I will go to San Francisco and try to work for Joe Goode in some capacity. In the meantime I am creating enough art to fill a dozen coracles. The core of my work involves perceptions of childhood and violence. My process is to go through massive periods of collecting objects alternating with huge moments of dispersal in which I place the collected items carefully in specific arrangements -often based upon some preset mythology (such as Star Wars or The Lord of The Rings)- and then throw and break things. I always invite others to break things as well, or bring items to be broken. One things that interests me is the release or sense of satisfaction that comes with smashing a plate or a ukulele.
I also write music. Quite a bit of my music is just melody and lyrics meant to be sung a Capella, though I've recently joined a jug band called Kiddy Korral. In it I sing and play the kazoo, dressed in a sequined flapper dress and a big brown beard. For a short time I performed in a highly improvisatory musical duo called Diablo&Coco created with a fellow Kiddy Korraler who dressed as the devil.
As a dancer I like to explore awkward movements and meta-narratives. My pieces are examples of my grotesque humor and morbid playfulness. Right now I'm working on a performance based on the relationship between myself and my younger sister. The dancers are two gay freshmen boys who tower over me like redwoods. Kiddy Korral will make an appearance with a song the boys and I wrote, and the title is going to be:
The Waltz of The Skankfaces
